BIO
Graydon Francis is a powerhouse Liberian American artist whose voice, rich and commanding, evokes comparisons to legends like Luther Vandross while carving out a space uniquely his own. Based in the Twin Cities, he rose through the ranks with the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness and brought electrifying energy as a background vocalist for Bebe Zahara Benet. His collaborations with Tarli and The Tribe on the Liberation album and the breakout "Come On" video (hailed by City Pages as one of the year's best) pushed Graydon into the national spotlight, with performances at major festivals including Melhaven Music Festival, Tequila and Taco Festival, and Jackson Indie Music Week. Headlining shows at the Concert at the Commons, Ice House, and Big Turn Music Fest, he’s also a featured vocalist in the acclaimed production The Music of Gladys Knight and the Pips.
Graydon is unapologetically reshaping the soundscape of modern soul, blending smooth R&B with vibrant Afropop influences. His latest single, “Tell Me Your Name,” brings back the nostalgic feel of ’90s R&B, infused with the rhythm and soul of his Liberian roots.
